Euro Disneyland

When Jim and Rachel decided to make the trip to Euro Disneyland to celebrate their 10 year old son's birthday, I must admit that a part of me was really happy. I had worked designing and building the central reservation system for Euro Disney around 25 years ago. Even though we got nowhere near the location of the central reservation system or any of the Disney hotels it has always been a nice association for me.

Euro Disney turned out to be a real mixed bag for us. The '25' minute wait for the Big Thunder Mountain railroad actually took an hour and 10 minutes. In general, the wait times for rides was long and the number of rides in the park was small. There were perhaps 7 rides in the park that we were interested in and 2 of them were closed for maintenance. Big Thunder Mountain kept getting stopped for technical difficulties. We probably should have checked the 'mousesavers.com' website for tips before we went.

The Indiana Jones roller coaster had only a 15 minute long ride and was one of our favorates. Unfortunately Jim and Rachel's daughter was just a hair too short to be allowed on.

The Disney parade was in the early afternoon and the park opens at 10am and closes at 7pm. My expectations based on our last trip with the kids to Disney California were considerably higher.
