The Palaces of Versailles

The last time we visit Versailles, the Hall of Mirrors was closed. We were quite glad to see it this time as were the tons of other tourists jammed into this enormous space.

The hallway of Napoleon contained an exhibit on more modern wars including this photo exhibit of Abu Giab.

While the palace was good for 1 1/2 hour tour, we spent 5 1/2 hours in the gardens and maybe saw 1/4th of them and probably walked for 5 or 6 miles. The kids (young and old) ALL did awesome!

There were other palaces, gazebos, fountains and lakes tucked in the gardens. Getaways from getaways, from getaways. This little rustic grouping of homes was probably the closest thing toa  cabin that the aristocracy had. Perhaps spending time in this pretend little village even made them feel in touch with the working class.
